FaceProject is an intervention aiming to physicalize digital presences in a public space. We used the Instagram API and spread the word for people all over the world to Instagram themselves with #FaceProjectNYC. We sourced the API into a gallery display and projected the pictures larger than life onto the Washington Square Arch in New York City. Using the city as our playground, we aimed to explore the boundaries between physical communities and digital communities, local presence and virtual presence.
